
About Christina Laurel
Christina Laurel is an installation artist working in paper. Her 2-D art evokes a Japanese aesthetic using found papers, while her 3-D art uses shoji paper and incorporates nature motifs such as the butterfly, lily pad and gingko leaf. 2024 solo exhibits include: “Refuge in the Round” Curtis R. Harley Gallery/University of South Carolina Upstate, and “Fifth Season” at the Greer Arts Center. Other exhibits include: Milliken Gallery/Converse University, Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg, SC; William King Museum, Abingdon, VA; and Turchin Center for Visual Art/Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. Laurel attended Cornell University, University of Maryland, and SUNY Brockport, earning a BS Studio Art in 2009. Laurel’s studio is located in Mayfair Artist Studios, where she completed a 2025 commission for an Atlanta-based art consultancy.
My Studio
A 200sf studio on the 2nd floor of the Mayfair Art Studios, located within the converted Arcadia Mill. High ceilings and windows enhance the sense of space alongside natural light. Mayfair promotes the camaraderie of fellow artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs.
