About Leah Wesley

Leah Wesley – From Magma to Mud and Botany

My work lives at the intersection of fire, earth, and growth. As both a glassblower and ceramic artist, I explore the quiet chemistry that connects all living and elemental things.

In borosilicate glass, I chase the moment when flame transforms color and light into motion, when transparency meets opacity and something otherworldly appears. My ornaments, botanical forms, and chain link earrings all echo this fascination with transformation and connection, the fragile balance between structure and breath.

In clay, I carve black and white sgraffito imagery that spirals around the vessel’s form. These designs draw inspiration from the rhythms of my family’s herb farm, a space where life and labor entwine in the soil.

As director of the clay studio at Mayfair Art Studios, I continue to cultivate both my own work, a community of makers and emerging artists. Across disciplines, my work seeks to honor the earth’s alchemy, an act of reverence for the luminous cycles that sustain us.

My Studio

The lower level of Mayfair Art studios sits a clay room full of creativity and raw potential. Currently used as a clay teaching space for the community and emerging artists. With sponsorship and grants in 3-5 years the space will double as a glass workshop and classroom. The artwork showcased will be primarily the Glass portfolio and artworks that Wesley sells and showcases around the world.
