“Spartanburg Open Doors – Studio Tour” is the annual “open studio” weekend event that showcases the local artists of Spartanburg County in their working studio spaces.

The tour presents an exciting opportunity for artists to open their doors to the public and invite visitors and collectors to come view their artwork, learn about the creative process, and purchase work for sale. This event is an annual tour that helps to introduce the amazing, hard-working artists of this community to the public.

There are numerous accomplished artists in the Upstate region of South Carolina, and this tour connects this variety of talent with the community of Spartanburg County.  The tour guides the public at large to these artisans and highlights the wonderful range of art and craft works being made in the region.

Open Doors Studio Tour provides artists located in Spartanburg County the opportunity to share their creative workspace with the visiting public by way of a dynamic open studio tour weekend event. This self-guided tour will have participating artists’ studios on a map, brochure, and a website. The 2-day weekend open studio event is free and open to the public.  Visiting community members will be able to purchase work, view educational demonstrations, and visit with the artists in person, in their workspaces.

The tour is intended for professional working artists who reside and/or work in Spartanburg County. Participating artists will have their studios open from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday,  April 26, and from 12-5 P.M. on Sunday, April 27.

The focus of the Open Doors Tour is to support the work of area artists and to heighten artistic and cultural awareness within our community.  The Open Doors Studio Tour is a chance to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of our arts community and to highlight creativity in the Spartanburg area. We are looking for artist participants who work in a variety of media and who love to share their creative process and work.

In addition, a few key locations such as the Artists Collective Spartanburg, and the Spartanburg Art Museum will serve as central locations to view their current exhibitions and obtain Open Doors brochures.
