I was raised in the hills of Wheeling, West Virginia. My surroundings left a huge impact on me, and it shows in my work. I started painting in my early twenties and remained a self-taught painter. I received an Associate degree in Advertising and Graphic Design at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. I worked in Graphic Design, Visual Merchandising and Picture Framing over the years. Then I went full time with my painting in the 90’s. My work has always been bright and colorful, and I usually work on canvas. I like to work in many styles, such as, expressionism, realism and abstract. I find myself working more in an expressionistic abstract style in the past couple of years. I like to use a lot of textures and different mediums, like acrylics, inks, graphite and oil pastels. I like to use the mediums all together.
