Old Spartanburg

This old building was an arresting part of the downtown Spartanburg skyline for nearly a hundred years. It came down this fall, demolished by time and progress. I have painted it several times. I love the strong presence and the mystery of this building. It speaks to me of history, of people and stories that are lost.
