Waiting (from What Lies Beneath series)

By Michelle Seabrook Pierce

Painted during the early Covid lockdown period before vaccines. When people were screaming that Covid was fake and dying horribly in hospitals. My two children and I waited at home for the virus to find us. Or for deniers to scream at us. Or to get fired for wearing a mask at work. In hindsight, our waiting at home saved our lives. None of us got Covid until well after there was a treatment, which we all needed. And thanks to which we all recovered. 21″x15″ on Arches paper.
